The Name of the son

The Name of YHWH our Father is handled in another teaching. There it is seen how our Creator Elohim revealed Himself and how this Name became “lost” with time. The question that now comes to mind is: What about our the son? Is His Name truly “Jesus,” “Christ,” or “Jesus Christ”? This may certainly be contentious, but it definitely is important.

During the first century current era and later on, most of the prophets’ names were not only transliterated[i] as they were written in Greek, but also Hellenised. This caused the names not only to be written in Greek but also became Greek in culture. A good example of this is the name of Elisa (Elisha) or more correctly, EliShuah. The meaning becomes very clear in Hebrew: Eli – El or Elohim/Eloah – is my Saviour. In Greek this was not only transliterated but transformed to Eliseus and Eli’Zeus! What an abomination! WHat a sudden difference in meaning: My el (god) is Zeus or Zeus is El (God)! The Sun god! An abomination before our Creator Elohim.

The same thing happened to Elijah (EliYah/EliYahu correctly) and Y’shua (Yahushuah). Eliyah was changes into Helias and is so close that it is often ‘misinterpreted’ as Helios the sun idol. Y’shua means Yah (YHWH) is my Saviour. What actually happened now, was that it changed – because of many Greeks and Romans from the heathen religions, forced to “convert” – to J’Zeus. Sure, there was no English “J” sound then in the alphabet – Greek or Hebrew – the sound was more like “Y” in “you”. That makes it even more suspicious. This then eventually became Jesus. Take a guess at the meaning! Yah is Zeus! Now, if this is not blasphemy, what is?

There are two main reasons why these names were changed, deformed or disguised: First of all the Yahudim (Jews) had a non Scriptural idea that the Father’s Name YHWH was ineffable. This was because of the third commandment. This caused them to disguise the Name. Even today they refer to it often as haShem, meaning “The Name”. The Son, coming with a similar Name then also had a problem. “I have come in My Father’s Name ...” (Yoh/Jn 5:43).

Secondly, there was a strong anti Semitic feeling among the majority of the heathen or gentile people of Europe and Asia and a very strong feeling of anti Judaism. Everyone wanted a Saviour, providing he was not Jewish! The Jew were hated and so was their Elohim, JHWH. Thus, a Saviour with a Greek name was the only answer. The name is Iesous in Greek and is transliterated into Latin as Iesus.

The problem however, with Iesous is that not only is the transliteration incorrect, but the possible origin from the female Greek idol of healing, Ieso.[ii] It does not really take a professor to see there are no similarities between Yahushua/Y’shua and Iesous. Let us look again at the verse in Yohanan (John) where Y’shua speaks: “I have come in My Father’s Name and you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive.” (Yoh 5:43).

There are many more connotations and explanations. The fact is however, that all of these foreign names do not bring praise or esteem to our Saviour, Y’shua, but rather uplift the Sun god/idol. A shrewd trick from the temporary ruler of this world.

Another possibility that should be considered is: What is the “another’s” “own name” that Y’shua refers to? Could it not perhaps be the twisted name Jesus Christ that Satan took and set-up for himself?
